Mentorship
Real Conversations. Real Guidance. Real Growth.

Why Mentorship Matters
At the Emerging Entrepreneur Zone (EEZ), we believe that the most powerful lessons don’t just come from textbooks — they come from people.
Our mentorship program connects students with real business owners, innovators, and community leaders who share what life as an entrepreneur really looks like — the highs, the hardships, and the lessons learned along the way.
This experience helps students decide with confidence whether they want to pursue entrepreneurship, college, or a mix of both.
Program Purpose
Our mentorship program is designed to:
Provide honest conversations about the realities of entrepreneurship.
Help students explore their personal goals, motivations, and strengths.
Offer professional guidance from trusted mentors in the Milwaukee business community.
Build early connections that can lead to internships, collaborations, or future opportunities.
How It Works
- 8-Week Mentorship Experience – Students meet weekly (in person or virtual) for guided discussions and mentor sessions.
- 1:1 or Small Group Pairing – Each student is matched with a mentor based on interests, goals, and career focus.
- Goal-Based Learning – Together, they set personal and professional goals, exploring what it takes to achieve them.
- Real Conversations – Mentors share what entrepreneurship really looks like — the sacrifices, the rewards, and the mindset required to keep going.
- Reflection & Growth – Students finish with a clear understanding of whether entrepreneurship, college, or a blended path feels right for them.

What Students Gain
- Clarity on whether entrepreneurship or college fits their path.
- Real-world perspective on business ownership and leadership.
- Increased confidence in decision-making and communication.
- A personal connection with a local mentor who’s been there before.
- Eligibility to join the EEZ Alumni Club for continued networking and mentorship.
What Mentors Gain
- Recognition as a community leader
- Networking with other local professionals
- The reward of inspiring youth who are just beginning their journey
- Invitation to exclusive EEZ and Small Business Milwaukee events
- A framed Certificate of Appreciation and online feature
EEZ thrives because professionals share their time and experience to help young people grow. Most mentors volunteer, and thanks to sponsor support, some receive paid opportunities to continue their impact.
